Girls U14

Teddington U14 Girls play in the
Home Counties Girls League U14 – Premier League West

Squads train together but are usually split into smaller training groups with specific coaches. Emphasis is on improving the skills necessary for harder, faster team games at under 14 and a higher scrutiny from umpires. The A team enter the England Hockey Cup with the top two teams from the region progressing through to the next stage. They also enter the England Hockey Junior League western division, where once again the top 2 teams go through to national finals day and Home Counties Girls leagues. Other teams enter Home Counties development leagues, the level depending upon the intake each season.

At age 13, players may also start to play adult hockey subject to registration, training and selection policies of the adult sections.

From U14 onwards boys and girls are encouraged to take an active role in coaching and umpiring for younger age groups and many of our older juniors help out on a Sunday morning. Some use this as a valid community exercise for Duke of Edinburgh awards.
